Pensacola Craft Beer Scene Loses Cajun Friend

Jerry's Cajun Cafe, a Pensacola landmark restaurant since 1993, recently shut its doors for good. Owner Jerry Mistretta blamed a poor economy, the BP oil spill, a 2007 fire, and legal issues for the closing.

While the restaurant did not boast an extensive list of craft beer, the offerings did include selections from Pensacola Bay Brewery and Abita. A bigger loss, however, is that Pensacola has now lost its best source of authentic cajun dishes to pair with great beer.

Mistretta expressed a hope that he would return in the near future with another restaurant in the Pensacola area. Here's hoping he brings the craft beer with him.
